Tour begins with a viewing platform on Blinnaya Gora (Pancake Hill). Further you will visit the architectural, exhibitional, and recreational complex “Konny Dvor” where the most complete collection of works of Russian folk art, folk art crafts and a collection of historical and archaeological monuments of the Sergiev Posad region since its inception is located. In addition, the complex conducts interactive exhibitions and programs, seminars, lectures and festivals. Also you will visit one of the most interesting museums of Sergiev Posad – the artistic and pedagogical Toy Museum, which stores more than 30 thousand toys from around the world. During the tour to the Trinity Sergius Lavra, you’ll learn about Saint Sergius and the grounding of the legendary monastery, its difficult history, hardships and miraculous events and about how the ensemble of the monastery has gradually formed from the first stone Trinity Cathedral of the 15th century, which stores the relics of St. Sergius, acquired during its construction, to the highest Russian belfry of the 18th century. Its height is 88.5 meters. You will also see the Holy Spirit Church – the example of Pskov architecture of the 15th century, covered with multicolored paintings Refectory Church, in which unique chamber took place the Local and Archiereus Councils of the Russian Orthodox Church, as well as the Metropolit chambers and the healing source. You will visit the majestic Cathedral of the Assumption, which, according to the legend, had been painted by the team of craftsmen for 100 days. You can also treat yourself to the tasty bread, baked in the monastery and its famous kvass.
