Peterhof and Kronstadt have played a huge role in the formation of St. Petersburg, as well as in the formation of the Russian state: Peterhof – the summer residence of the Emperors of Russia with magnificent fountains and golden sculptures, and the main local attraction – the Grand Peterhof Palace. And Kronstadt – the city-port, also known as the “Window to Europe”. Kronstadt is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, there are more than 300 historical and architectural monuments.
During the excursion you will pass along the famous Peterhof road, where famous and unknown manors are located, you will learn about famous owners.
You will visit a pearl of Peterhof – the Grand Palace – the largest and the most famous palace of the residence which was often used for gala receptions. After this you will proceed to the Lower Park (Nizhny Park) which is a genuine masterpiece of landscape design.
Also you will see the sea fortress of Kronstadt created by Peter the Great, with its unique hydrotechnical and defensive structures, architectural ensemble, numerous monuments and the magnificent Naval Cathedral.
